Philosophy
Davidson Tutoring's philosophy is founded on the idea that students are individuals with learning styles, strengths and weaknesses unique to each of them. This allows for an individualized academic approach tailored to meet each student's needs. Through positive academic interactions with their tutors, students are able to work towards reaching their academic potential.
Our Director
Deborah Hurtado passionately enjoys education. Her experience spans early childhood intervention with Pre-K readers to retirees advancing their skills and pursuing their dreams. She has designed programs for LAUSD's Beyond the Bell Program, Orcutt Union School District and Santa Maria Joint Union High School District to facilitate reading, math and study skills intervention. She received her degree at UCLA and interned with Teach For America. She specializes in curriculum design and active learning processes that engage all levels of students. Her passion is discovery-based learning that encourages lifelong learners.
